Hi everyone! It’s that time of year again when the sales are in full force and inboxes are overflowing with deals and promises of savings. I personally love the excitement of holiday sales, whether I’m buying something for myself or for someone I love, but I also know this time of year can come with a lot of pressure and opinions. You’ll hear “shop small and whatever you do, don’t give your money to the big companies.” But what about when shopping small simply isn’t in the budget? As a small business owner and a human who believes people should be free to make the financial choices that feel right for them, without guilt, shame, or commentary, I often feel caught in the middle.

I read an email from my good friend (and fellow small business owner) France, where she shared:
